Updating the MUN process with MUN ITeachNet
What is MUN ITeachNet all about ?
-
For Delegates: This Web-based tool is specifically designed to serve the needs of MUN delegates. It comes equipped with numerous tools that enable the students to prepare for their MUN conference, to work with their peers in advance and during the conference.
-
For Advisors: MUN ITeachNet is a tool for organizing delegates by country and committee, for instructing them in preparing their resolutions. It is also a fun and effective way to teach your students the MUN process. With this program, advisors are able to assign homework, oversee progress and stay in contact with the club members.
-
MUN ITeachNet doesn't replace the MUN preparation process; rather, it helps make it more efficient, effective and fun using the best of current, Web-based social networking technology.
What is MUN ITeachNet ?
Up-dating the MUN process
The tools are designed to facilitate the MUN Process beginning with learning about current events, progressing through stages of reflection, analysis, discussion and conception of ideas.
-
News Sources – “RSS Feeds” from news sources of your choice, listed as headlines on your site. Help students and advisors stay abreast of real world events in support of their MUN work.
-
MUN Issues Forums – “Bulletin Boards” which can be moderated by advisors or experienced students. Dedicated to the issues of the conference, they can provide an invaluable tool for learning the issues and how to discuss them.
-
Delegates/Advisors Journals – “Blogs” for drafting, revising and editing resolutions. Advisors can easily monitor students' progress; blogs can be kept private until ready for the big day.
-
Buddy lists – All members can invite and accept other members as “buddies.” This allows for the formation of both casual and serious alliances.
-
Delegate Pager – Built-in Private messaging tool for back-room political haggling, or just “good idea” notes, on the way to resolutions, debates and votes.
-
Quick Political Issue Polls – Presented topics on which students vote and then explain their reasons. e.g. Should the U.S exit Iraq?
-
MUN-ITeachNet includes a section dedicated to explaining regulations, deadlines and the History of MUN and the United Nations. It can have links to other resources, too. This section can be modified to Supervisors needs and style.
-
Issues Chat – A relatively casual “lounge” where delegates may relax and chat about current events, club meetings or whatever. All chats are logged.
MUN-ITeachNet leads students towards more well-founded ideas, better prepared and delivered resolutions – all in an enjoyable and efficient way.
CYBER SAFE
What does that mean?
As international school teachers, MUN Teachers and Advisors are very concerned about the dangers posed by the Internet; therefore, MUN ITeachNet has been deliberately created in a "cyber-safe" format.
-
Easily monitored membership.
-
Public or Private: Section-by section control over who sees what, when.
-
Personal Information is Hidden and Protected.
Unique, Affordable, Reliable and Relevant
-
Unique – Designed by experienced MUN advisors, but ready to be tailored to your particular needs. It's a service, not a product.
-
Affordable – Numerous state-of-the art social networking services for the price of one.
-
Reliable – A strong program with Online Tech support available -- and we are also just a phone call away!
-
Relevant – Ensure that your MUN group uses up-to-date tools and methods. Collaborate with other schools more easily, efficiently and effectively.
